Since 2007, ClubCorp has donated over $7 million to ALS research through Augie’s Quest

January 2018– San Clemente, CA — Augie’s Quest to Cure ALS announced today that ClubCorp and its family of clubs raised $850,000 in 2017 for ALS research through its philanthropic golf events program, the ClubCorp Charity Classic. ClubCorp is the leading corporate supporter of ALS research, raising over $7 million net for Augie’s Quest since 2007.

Now in its 11th year, the ClubCorp Charity Classic is a nationwide program which opens the doors of private country, golf and business clubs to the public to host charity events throughout the year. Along with Augie’s Quest, beneficiaries of this program include the ClubCorp Employee Partners Care Foundation and various local charities. This year, for the second year in a row, over $3 million was raised and once again breaking all previous records.

In 2017, the top fundraising club was Coto de Caza Golf & Racquet Club (Coto de Caza, CA) which raised over $215,000 through their event. Other top clubs that raised in excess of $100,000 were Aliso Viejo Country Club (Aliso Viejo, CA), Firestone Country Club (Akron, OH), Rolling Green Country Club (Arlington Heights, IL), and Brookhaven Country Club (Farmers Branch, TX).

Augie Nieto, co-founder of Augie’s Quest who has been living with ALS since 2005, said, “ClubCorp continues to be such a key Augie’s Quest partner in our bold quest to end ALS. Each dedicated club works on a variety of fundraising events to engage their members and help bring about a cure and effective treatments for ALS.
