Marc & Stefanie’s Love Story

Marc and I met in 1982 in English class at Loara High School. We were seniors—two left-handed kids who discovered we shared more than just a classroom. We were both adopted as babies, both growing up without knowing our ethnicity or where our stories truly began. Even then, it felt like life had quietly aligned us long before we understood why.

Our first date was our senior prom, and from that night on, we chose each other. We dated through graduation and into adulthood, building dreams side by side, and on June 1, 1985, we were married—young, hopeful, and certain that whatever came next, we would face it together.

Our greatest joys followed quickly. Our son Trevor was born on July 5, 1986, filling our lives with laughter and new purpose. Lindsay arrived on September 2, 1988, bringing warmth, strength, and sweetness. Our youngest, Chelsea, was born on October 5, 1991, completing our family and forever anchoring our hearts.

The years passed with all the ups and downs that life promises—seasons of celebration, seasons of challenge—but for more than 40 years, we stayed the course. Love isn’t just found in the big moments; it’s forged in the ordinary days, the hard conversations, the unwavering choice to keep going together.

Today, one of our greatest blessings is watching our family grow into the next generation. Trevor and Cate are parents to three incredible boys—Owen (10), Wyatt (9), and Sawyer (6). Lindsay and Nick have two beautiful children, Murphy (6) and Olive (4). Chelsea and Tim welcomed baby Isaac just four months ago. Six grandchildren, six reminders of how richly full our lives have become.

In December of 2023, our world shifted when Marc was diagnosed with Bulbar ALS. It was devastating—not just for us, but for our entire family. Yet even in this hardest chapter, we have been surrounded by extraordinary people. The compassion, strength, and hope we’ve found through Augie’s Quest and so many others have carried us in ways we never imagined.

Now, we live each day with a new perspective. We cherish the moments, lean into love, and hold fast to faith. We are deeply grateful for every blessing the Lord has given us—our family, our community, and the enduring love that began in a high school English class and continues to carry us forward.
