Thank you to all the families that shared their incredible love stories with us, and to our partners : the ALS Therapy Development Institute and I AM ALS, who join us in sharing the incredible stories of love, perseverance, and hope this Valentine’s season. More importantly, all three of these organizations work tirelessly year round to change the future for people living with ALS.
One of my silver linings of this diagnosis is truly knowing the definition of unconditional love. My incredible hero and wife, Lynne, my kids and their families, and so many friends, fitness industry colleagues and loved ones have been by my side and part of my quest since day one. I love you and I am grateful.
To my Valentine, Lynne: I love you. I appreciate you. I value you. I am so proud of you, the life we’ve built together, and our Quest to find a CURE for ALS. I don’t know what I did to deserve this kind of friendship, love, support and kindness – but I know how lucky I am to have you as my partner. Happy Valentine’s Day.
And Happy Valentine’s Day to each of you. My heart is full today and every day thanks to your commitment to my Quest. We WILL find a cure with your support.
The Augie’s Quest community is powerful, dedicated and united by a common cause: finding a cure for ALS. Our leaders work tirelessly to advocate for the ALS community and raise critical funds to support new and promising ALS treatments.
People living with ALS, caregivers, friends and family can also play a significant role in the fight against the disease. You can make a difference this May by raising awareness for the cause in several ways.
Here are 5 Ways to Raise Awareness for the ALS Community:
Stay Informed Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is a fatal motor neuron disease that targets nerve cells in the spinal cord and brain. With no cure currently available, it is one of the most devastating diseases to affect the function of muscles and nerves. Educating yourself on ALS disease, and reading the stories of those who have lived with it, can help you become more of an “expert” in your own community. This will inspire others to join in on the quest to raise awareness and find a cure for ALS.
Create a Facebook Fundraiser for Augie’s Quest
Fundraising on Facebook is an easy way to tap into your network and to raise critical funds to support ALS research. Customize your fundraiser by setting your fundraising goal, giving your fundraiser a title and sharing why you’re fundraising for Augie’s Quest this May. The best part, there are no fees associated with Facebook fundraising, and all of the funds that you raise will be sent directly to Augie’s Quest.
Upload Our Facebook Frame
Spread awareness to your Facebook network and show how dedicated you are to ending ALS by adding a Facebook Frame to your profile image. Simply go to your profile, click your profile image, select update profile picture, add frame and search for Augie’s Quest. Select the “Augie’s Quest End ALS” frame and click update!
